“밤하늘의 별빛을 보며 길을 찾던 시대는 얼마나 행복했던가”(헝가리의 사상가 레오르크 루카치).
우리나라 고인돌 상판에도 성혈(星穴), 별자리들이 새겨져 있다.
‘하늘의 별빛과 인간 내면의 불꽃이 완전히 동일한 시대’로 돌아가자, 바로 그곳이 ‘별빛 퀘렌시아’다. 

주요 프로그램
1. 시인 이원규의 <별나무> 사진과 12년 동안 찍어온 대한민국 은하수 영상 감상 (안개와 구름 속의 야생화 <몽유운무화> 영상 감상) 
2. 별자리 앱 스텔라리움(Stellarium)으로 밤하늘의 별 찾아보기
3. 카메라와 핸드폰(삼성 갤럭시 23 울트라, 24 울트라, 아이폰)으로 별 촬영하기(삼각대 필수)
4. 참가자들과 함께 별 관련 시 낭독하기


2024년 11월2일 동쪽 하늘 안드로메다 유성우가 쏟아지는 밤이다.

저녁 7시, 곡성 기차마을 동화정원 남서쪽에 금성이 지면서 은하수의 남두육성(궁수자리)도 지평선 아래로 가라앉는다.

저녁  8시,  남서쪽과 서쪽 하늘 높이 견우-직녀성이 보인다.

저녁  9시, 동쪽 하늘에 목성이 떠오른다.
자정부터 시리우스가 올라오면 동남쪽 겨울철 다이아몬드 별자리가 보인다.

Just as ancient dolmen capstones were engraved with star holes and constellations, let us return to an era when the starlight of the heavens and the inner flames of humanity were in perfect harmony—this is the essence of "Starlight Querencia."

Main Program
*Viewing of poet Lee Won-kyu’s "Star Tree" photography and Milky Way videos from the past 12 years, along with "Dreamlike Wildflowers in Mist and Clouds" video.

*Exploring the night sky using the Stellarium app to locate constellations.

*Photographing stars using cameras and smartphones (Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, S24 Ultra, iPhone)—tripod required.

*Reciting star-related poems together with participants.

Astronomical Highlights on November 2, 2024:
7:00 PM: Venus sets in the southwest as the Sagittarius constellation of the Milky Way dips below the horizon.
8:00 PM: The Altair (Cowherd) and Vega (Weaving Girl) stars are visible high in the southwest and west.
9:00 PM: Jupiter rises in the eastern sky.
Midnight: Sirius rises, revealing the Winter Diamond constellation in the southeastern sky.

내용
'자작나무숲에 만나는 퀘렌시아(Querencia) ' 현대인의 스트레스와 불안을 해소하기 위한 가상의 공간에 평화로운 마음의 피난처를 제공합니다. 
이 프로젝트는 사용자에게 일상에서 벗어난 진정한 휴식을 경험할 수 있는 기회를 선사하고자 합니다. 
부드러운 바람 소리, 새소리, 그리고 햇빛이 비치는 자작나무 잎사귀의 섬세한 표현을 통해 자연의 아름다움을 생생하게 재현합니다. 
사용자가 나무를 만지거나 숲속을 걸을 때 제공되는 촉각과 청각적 피드백은 더욱 몰입감 있는 경험을 가능하게 합니다. 
이를 통해 사용자의 심리적 안정과 스트레스 감소, 그리고 자연과의 영적 교감을 경험할 수 있습니다.

Event Description
“Querencia in the Birch Forest”

This project offers a virtual sanctuary of peace for modern individuals to relieve stress and anxiety. It aims to provide users with a chance to experience genuine relaxation away from everyday life. Through the delicate depiction of soft wind sounds, bird calls, and sunlight filtering through birch leaves, the beauty of nature is vividly recreated. Tactile and auditory feedback, available as users touch trees or walk through the forest, enhances the immersive experience. This interaction allows users to achieve psychological stability, stress reduction, and spiritual communion with nature.

"해외작가들을 위한 로컬 투어 프로그램"

곡성의 주요 문화유적지와 자연 경관, 문화공간, 관광지 등을 탐방하며, 지역의 다양한 면모를 체험할 수 있는 알찬 일정으로 구성되어 있다.
곡성의 역사, 문화, 지리에 대해 정통한 문화 해설사가 동행하여 각 장소의 역사적 배경과 의미를 상세히 설명해주어 해외 예술가들이 역사적 맥락을 깊이 이해하고, 추후 예술제에 참가할 때 이를 창작에 반영할 수 있도록 돕는다.

또한 곡성의 아름다운 자연을 체험하고 곡성의 특산물로 요리한 전통요리를 체험하는 시간도 마련된다. 섬진강변, 숲길, 농촌과 같은 자연 명소를 탐방하며, 자연 속에서 영감을 얻는 시간을 갖을 예정이다.

"Local Tour Program for Overseas Artists"

*Location: Gokseong area (Seomjin River, Daehwang River, Gokseong Hyanggyo, Dorimsa Temple, Train Village, Jewol Island, etc.)

The program offers a comprehensive itinerary that allows participants to explore Gokseong's major cultural heritage sites, natural landscapes, cultural spaces, and tourist attractions, providing a well-rounded experience of the region. Accompanied by a cultural guide well-versed in the history, culture, and geography of Gokseong, the overseas artists will receive detailed explanations about the historical background and significance of each location. This will help them gain a deep understanding of the historical context, which they can later reflect in their creative work during the art festival.

Additionally, the program includes experiencing Gokseong's beautiful nature and enjoying traditional cuisine made with local specialties. Participants will visit natural attractions such as the Seomjin River, forest paths, and rural areas, allowing them to find inspiration in the natural surroundings.
