2024SIEAF의 주제는 ‘퀘렌시아(Querencia)’입니다. 
스페인에서 유래된 단어로 투우경기중 지친 소들이 잠시 휴식을 취하는 ‘피난처’ 또는 ‘안식처’를 의미하며, 곡성의 자연 속에서 평안을 찾고 예술을 통해 치유되는 경험을 하실겁니다. 
따라서 올해 SIEAF는 자연과 예술이 서로 어우러져 서로의 마음을 열고, 창의적인 영감을 나누며, 새로운 예술적 가능성을 탐구하는 예술제가 될 것입니다.

SIEAF는 예술과 농업, 생태적 환경을 아우르는 콘텐츠로 농촌 지역사회의 삶의 질을 향상시키고, 지역 문화예술의 다양성과 활력을 증진시키는 데 기여를 하고자 합니다. 또한, 제로 웨이스트 축제를 지향하며, 환경 보호에 대한 인식을 확산시키고자 합니다.

올해 해외 참가국은 노르웨이, 뉴질랜드, 독일, 미국, 브라질, 영국, 에스토니아, 인도, 일본, 이탈리아, 프랑스, 헝가리, 한국 등 다양한 국가의 예술가들이 참여합니다. 이들은 다양한 배경과 문화를 바탕으로 각자의 독창적인 예술 세계를 펼치며, 우리에게 깊은 감동과 영감을 선사할 것입니다.

이번 섬진강국제실험예술제가 잊지 못할 예술적 영감을 받고 지친 몸과 마음이 치유되기를 바라며, 자연 속에서 펼쳐지는 예술의 향연을 마음껏 즐기시기 바랍니다.

Festival Message

The theme of the 2024 SIEAF is ‘Querencia’. Originating from Spain, this word refers to a ‘refuge’ or ‘resting place’ where tired bulls find respite during a bullfight. In the tranquil nature of Gokseong, you will find peace and experience healing through art. Therefore, this year’s SIEAF will be a festival where nature and art blend harmoniously, opening hearts, sharing creative inspirations, and exploring new artistic possibilities.

SIEAF aims to enhance the quality of life in rural communities by integrating content that encompasses art, agriculture, and the ecological environment. The festival contributes to increasing the diversity and vibrancy of local culture and arts. Additionally, it strives to be a zero-waste festival, raising awareness about environmental protection.

This year, artists from various countries, including Norway, New Zealand, Germany, the United States, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Estonia, India, Japan, Italy, France, Hungary, and Korea, will participate. Drawing on their diverse backgrounds and cultures, these artists will showcase their unique artistic worlds, offering us deep inspiration and moving experiences.
